This is the work of Minsk sculptor Vladimir Zhbanov. Locals have fallen in love with "The Lighter" for its mischievous charm. Legend has it that Zhbanov immortalized a friend who loved to dangle his legs over the balcony, or perhaps himself in his youth. Initially, the guy's cigarette was real, and passersby were constantly giving him new ones. Now, it's simply an image of freedom and gentle nostalgia. Incidentally, they say that if a girl wants to get married, she should throw her shoe so that it catches on his boot. But as you can see, getting there is no easy task—it's not like the Trevi Fountain in Rome; it requires exceptional skill!
