The Znamenskaya Church (also the Church of the Sign of the Blessed Virgin Mary) is an Orthodox church located on the territory of the Znamensky Monastery in the Right-Bank District of Irkutsk, on Angarskaya Street, at the confluence of the Ushakovka River in the Angara. The main cathedral of the Irkutsk and Angarsk diocese (since 1991). One of the oldest Orthodox churches in Irkutsk.
In 1757, at the expense of the Irkutsk merchant Ivan Bichevin, the stone Znamensky Church was laid in the territory of the Znamensky Monastery. In 1882, the interior of the church was redone according to the project of the architect V.A. Kudelsky
July 17, 1934 the church was closed, all the buildings of the monastery were transferred to the Irkutsk hydroport.
In 1945, individual monastery buildings, including the Church of the Sign, were returned to believers.
Since 1990, the relics of St. Innocent of Irkutsk have been resting in the church.
