Yuzhno-Morskoy is a microdistrict of the city of Nakhodka, Primorsky Krai. Until 1972, the village was called Tafuin. In July 1861, while exploring the Vostok Bay, the crew of the Gaydamak screw clipper under the command of Lieutenant Commander Aleksey Alekseevich Peshchurov opened a harbor convenient for ships, protected from all storms, named by Peshchurov after his ship.
Here, in 1889, the entrepreneur Dydymov Akim Grigoryevich (year of birth unknown - 1890-91), a well-known industrialist, one of the pioneers of whaling in the Russian Far East, organized one of the first whaling bases and a zhirotopny factory.
In 1890, A. G. Dydymov installed the first identification lighthouse at Cape Peshchurova.
In 1895, Count Keyserling Heinrich Gugovich (1866-1944), also a retired naval officer, bought a whale cutting plant in Gaydamak Bay, which remained with the state after the death of A. G. Dydymov, and continued whale processing production here. Then he built a cannery, a cooper, a sawmill and organized a regular steamship connection with the city of Vladivostok. Jung opened the school.
In a small bay Tafuin on the western shore of Vostok Bay in 1916, Prince N. N. Shakhovskoy built a crab cannery, one of the first in Primorye.
Founded in 1927.
Here was the largest fish processing enterprise during the Soviet Union. "Tafuin". The monument to its leader can still be seen in the square in front of the Yuzhmorrybflot office. Nadibaidze Shalva Georgievich headed the enterprise from 1939 to 1945 and, despite his youth (he was only 35 years old), successfully coped with complex and volume production.
In wartime, the Tafuins procured canned fish, concentrates and salty products in excess of the plan, which were sent to the front for soldiers. The whole country knew about the small fishing village. Among the best workers was Agniya Efimovna Troyanova, senior foreman of the cannery of the Tafuin fish factory of Glavprimorrybprom. She became the first woman in the fishing industry of the country - the Hero of Socialist Labor.
From the village of Tafuin he went as a private to the front and graduated from the Great Patriotic War with the rank of captain Aleksey Alekseevich Larionov, who was awarded the gold star of the Hero of the Soviet Union.
