An amazing exhibition in the Shklovsky District Museum of History and Local Lore dedicated to the history of the iron. More than 100 irons of various types and names are presented here, each of them has its own unique history. You can see a long way to develop such a seemingly simple object - from a wooden ruble to a modern, electric iron. The exposition includes rubles with which our distant ancestors ironed fabric, exotic Chinese and Japanese braziers, coal irons of various shapes and sizes, irons with a soul that came to us from the motley Renaissance, cast irons of different times, paraffin irons, which were used to heat grease , oil and even alcohol, gas irons, and many, many others. Here you can also see such unusual irons as flutters used to create folds on fabrics and corrugators, the progenitors of the future hair curlers.
