Ivan Mikhailovich Krotov was born on August 20, 1920 in the village of Bolshaya Mostovaya, Verkhotursky district, Yekaterinburg province. Education:

  • 1942 - graduated from a 5-month course for train dispatchers
  • 1943 - graduated from a course for technicians at the Khabarovsk Institute of Railway Transport Work experience:

  • 1938–1942 – duty officer at Verkhoturye station
  • 1942–1948 – train dispatcher at Serov branch of the railway
  • 1948–1980 – duty officer at Serov branch of the railway Public activities:
  • Deputy of the city Council of workers' deputies of three convocations
  • Member of the city committee of the CPSU
  • Member of the district committee of the trade union of railway workers
  • People's assessor in the city court Awards and titles:
  • Medal "For Distinguished Labor"
  • Medal "For Labor Valor during the Great Patriotic War in 1941–1945"
  • Medal "For Labor Valor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V.I. Lenin"
  • The "Shock Worker of Communist Labor" Badge
  • The "Excellent Mover" Badge

In memory of I.M. Krotov, a marble memorial plaque was installed on the facade of the building of the former Serov branch of the Sverdlovsk Railway and he was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Serov" in 1980.
