    October Square (Belorussian. Kastrychnitskaya ploshcha) - square in the center of Minsk.

    The square is located in the Central region between Independence Avenue, Engels and Internatsionalnaya streets. In the east, the square is limited by the buildings of the Palace of Culture of Trade Unions and the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.

    In addition to these buildings, Beltelecom RUE, the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, and the Palace of the Republic are located on the square. A Zero Kilometer sign and a large television screen are installed on the square. From Independence Avenue, the October Square adjoins the Central Square with the former government stands, in the center of which there is an old fountain with the sculpture “Boy with a Swan”. Around the square are the Central House of Officers, the residence of the President of the Republic of Belarus, the National Academic Theater named after Yankees Kupala. The square has the exits of the Oktyabrskaya and Kupalovskaya metro stations.
