These are old kilns, once used for lime burning. There is a lot of limestone in the vicinity of the village. Even the famous rocks of the Ai River are also made of limestone.

Handicraft burning of limestone in the vicinity of the village of Mezhevoy began to be practiced back in the 19th century. True, despite the very authentic look of the old stoves, they were built already in Soviet times, when lime production in Paramonovka was set on a grand scale. This is evidenced by the date of construction (or reconstruction), lined with bricks on one of the furnaces - 1961.
