The Admiralteyskaya Square was solemnly opened on September 7, 1996, on the Day of the City, on the 300th anniversary of the Russian fleet. A rostral column and a triumphal arch were installed in memory of the construction of the fleet. The design of the square was made according to the project developed by architect A.I. An in the creative workshop of A.M. Yanovsky. The Assumption Church of the Assumption, built at the end of the 17th century, entered the square complex.
