Mount Kachkanar and Buddhist monastery Shedrub Ling

Mount Kachkanar, the highest peak of the middle Urals (887 m). On the slope of the mountain is the only Buddhist monastery in the Urals, Shedrub Ling (Tib. "Place of Practice and Realization"). Date of foundation of the monastery May 15, 1995 - founder Mikhail Sannikov (Lama Tingdzin Dokshit). All buildings of the monastery were built entirely by hand, without construction equipment, from materials collected by the community. It brings together a community of practitioners from different cities of Russia. The main task set in Shedrub Ling is the development of the scholarly, yogic and monastic traditions of Buddhism in the Russian space.
