aqua alta

by Рыжова Елена

Acqua Alta (Italian: “high water”) is one of the oldest and most popular bookstores in Venice. Place located near the Rialto Bridge, it has a truly fabulous atmosphere, filled with old books, postcards and photographs. The most colorful are the staircase made of sunken books and the parking lot for gondolas right next to the entrance. The decors of this series are distinguished by their pronounced relief. The first structure resembles a round stained glass window or medallion, usually placed above the entrance to a home. The second one is very similar on the spines of books standing on a shelf or lying in a neat stack
